Windows Phone Accessory Review: RF3 ENVi Headphone

RF3 ENVi mono earpiece

Here's a relatively new Windows Phone accessory that jumped off the figurer screen at me. The RF3 ENVi corded headsets use AirCom2 applied science to continue potentially harmful radiation away from your noggin'. Using natural woods earpieces is another feature that makes these corded headsets unique.

We took a await at the Mono-earphone model (comes in a 2 piece stereo model every bit well) and the RF3 performed really well. The ENVi headphone does approach things a lilliputian differently than your typical corded headset. Typical headsets send the audio signals through wires directly to a speaker that sits in your ear. The ENVi uses a SPL enhanced sound bedchamber that then channels the sounds upwards air tubes to a natural forest earbud. It basically puts the speaker downward from the earpiece.

The build quality of the headphone is good. The wood pieces feel solid and to help with the fit/feel, the earpiece comes with a few different sized earbuds. A wired ear hook attaches to the wooden speaker to help with a secure fit. The downside to the ear hook is that is right ear simply.

A microphone with switch rests along the wired department of the cord that you can utilise to answer/finish calls.  Call quality and audio quality was really prissy. Granted this is a mono headphone but still the sound quality was surprisingly prissy. Especially when y'all consider the concluding vi inches of travel is through a hollow tube.

The but oddity, and I use the term loosely, is that the headphone isn't fitted with a 3.5mm headphone jack.  Instead sports the smaller two.5mm jack.  To balance things out and save you lot from having to chase down an adapter on your own, the headphone is packaged with a two.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.

The RF3 ENVi collection includes the mono earpiece with or without the hook and a stereo headset with or without the ear hooks. The headphones first at $29.95 and top out at $44.95. You can find the mono earpiece with claw here and the entire RF3 collection hither at the WPCentral Accessory Store.
